Star Richmond playmaker Brett Deledio had a perfect finish to the 2015 home-and-away season.
Deledio was awarded 10 votes out of a possible 10 in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for the Round 23 match against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium last Friday night, after playing such a pivotal role in the Tigers’ 41-point win.
He finished with 26 disposals, including 14 score involvements and nine inside-50s, took 10 marks and kicked a goal.
Richmond’s second highest vote-getter in the match was captain Trent Cotchin with eight.
Cotchin had 30 disposals, including 17 contested possessions, eight score involvements, six inside-50s, four rebound-50s and five clearances.
Hard-running, young Richmond wingman Brandon Ellis received three votes for his 26-disposal display, which included five inside-50s, plus five marks.
Tough Tiger inside midfielder Anthony Miles and gun key defender Alex Rance both picked up two votes, while Bachar Houli was given one vote.
The leading vote-getter in the prestigious coaches award, won this year by Sydney’s Dan Hannebery, was Dustin Martin, with 64.
