Robbie Fox has emerged as the AFL’s latest mature-age success story after playing a key role in Sydney’s stirring victory over Geelong on Saturday.
The 25-year-old Burnie premiership player, who arrived at the Swans in the 2016 rookie draft via VFL club Coburg, kicked two of Sydney’s final quarter goals and also did his best impression of fellow Tasmanian Jeremy Howe with a towering grab.
Playing forward and as the back-up ruck to Callum Sinclair, Fox finished with nine possessions, three marks, one tackle and three hit-outs in his sixth game at the highest level.
Fox at times had fellow Tasmanian Jake Kolodjashnij as an opponent, with the the Launceston product having 11 touches, taking five marks and laying four tackles.
