Jarrad Grant2The Gold Coast SUNS have signed former Western Bulldogs forward Jarrad Grant as a delisted free agent.

Grant joins the club after playing 81 games for the Bulldogs since making his debut in round five, 2009 including 19 matches in 2015.

“I’m really looking forward to continuing my AFL career with the Gold Coast SUNS,” Grant said.

“I couldn’t think of a more exciting club to join. I know a lot of people at the SUNS and I take great confidence that they have faith in me to play the role they’re after.”

Taken with the No.5 selection in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, Grant played under GC SUNS coach Rodney Eade at the Bulldogs.

“Having played under ‘Rocket’ before, I know what he is after, know what he expects and I just can’t wait to get up there and start.”

General Manager – Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft welcomed Grant to the club.

“We are thrilled to have signed Jarrad through the free agency system.

“Leading up to the exchange period we identified we would target a suitable ruckman, winger and forward to play specific roles for us in 2016 and beyond.

“We secured Dan Currie and Matt Rosa during the exchange period and now Jarrad is the final piece to that puzzle,” Ashcroft said.
