Jarryn Geary7Round 20 is Members’ Thankyou Round, and we gave one young Saints member a special experience he will never forget three weeks ago.

Prior to St Kilda’s pulsating win over Fremantle in round 18, injured defender Jarryn Geary surprised eight-year-old Euan Walker at his house in Mentone and drove him to Etihad Stadium.

“He’s been to every home game this year. So we thought we would come and surprise him and thank him for his support,” Geary said.

Euan’s afternoon at the footy began by watching his beloved Saints warm up, before forming a guard of honour for the players as they ran onto the field and through the banner.

From there Euan, his sister, brother and dad took their seats and cheered the Saints on to a memorable upset win.

“It’s really nice to be recognised for being loyal to the team. That is the motto: Loyalty unites us,” Euan’s dad Martin told SAINTS.com.au.

“We’ve been to every home game and we’ve had a fantastic experience here today and we’ve been looked after very well.”

While admitting the experience was initially a bit overwhelming for Euan, Geary said that a 58-point win was the perfect way to cap off a perfect day for the passionate young supporter.

“It’s the great that the boys could reward him today with a victory… He tipped us to win and kick 15 goals and we did so he’s a happy boy.”
